OZONE THERAPY
What is it?

Ozone (O3) is a trivalent form of oxygen (O2). Simply put it is supercharged oxygen! The earth’s atmosphere is overlayed by the ozonesphere, this protective layer of ozone has a twofold purpose, it protects the earth from the sun’s harmfull UV rays, and it purifies and rids the air of polution.

Ever since its discovery, by Christian F. Schönbein during the 1830’s, the properties of ozone, and its action on the molecular structure of all kinds of chemicals, compounds, live cells and micro-organisms, have astounded the scientific and medical world alike.

Scientific studies have proven that ozone has been successful in treating many diseases. Ozone therapy also combats the detrimental effects of cancer and chemotherapy as well as a number of other medical health problems. More than 100 years of studies, including over 5.5 milion case studies has proven ozone therapy to be the safest therapy ever.

This protective layer of ozone acts as a filter against the otherwise highly destructive hard radiation in the form of ultraviolet (UV) energy coming from the sun, thus helping to maintain the biological balance on our planet Earth.

The Ozone Gap - p 153
Due to a complicated process caused by industrial gases (containing FCKW’s and other halogens) the O3 in our protective ozonosphere is caused to break down. As there is then not enough ozone, to act as a filter, this causes an increasingly large gap through which UV rays (which are capable of causing skin cancer and influencing genetic processes) can penetrate without hindrance.

Without the ozone layer all life on earth will cease to exist within 24 hours!

In Nature there is a cycle of oxygen just as there is a cycle of water...



• Water evaporates from the sea, rivers and lakes
• Rises up into the atmosphere where it forms clouds
• Clouds shed it in the form of rain where it is caught up in rivers, lakes and the sea
• The cycle starts all over again

• Oxygen produced by plants, trees and plankton in the sea rises up into the atmosphere
• When it reaches a height of 20-30 km above the earth the sun’s ultraviolet rays irradiate (bombard) the molecular structure of oxygen
• The two atoms of the oxygen molecule breaks apart into 2 single oxygen atoms (singlet oxygen)
• Each singlet oxygen atom now seeks out other oxygen molecules (O2) and binds with it to form Ozone (O3)
• Ozone is heavier than oxygen and the surrounding air and starts falling towards the earth
• A process of oxidation takes place during this “Ozone Fall” when the single oxygen atom is again released back into the atmosphere
• This single oxygen atom now seeks out all anaerobic micro-organisms present in the air and destroys them on contact thus purifying the earth’s atmosphere
• The cycle starts all over again



Ozone is also created by lightning during
thunderstorm acitivity.

The intense heat causes the 02 molecule to break apart where upon these singlet oxygen atoms will combine with other oxygen molecules to form 03.
